Undergraduate Research

Undergraduates are encouraged to become involved in research as early as possible in their studies. It is a rewarding, hands-on learning experience and often fun, exciting, sociable & a great break from studying! Also the most informative and influential letters of recommendation for grad school and/or future employment typically come from faculty who supervise research. Students may do research for course credit at Georgia Tech, for pay, or as volunteers.

Getting involved in research requires students to take the initiative. For more information, check out the Georgia Tech Undergraduate Research Opportunities website and also the links below for information about opportunities in each CoS school. Faculty regularly use undergraduate research assistants in their labs - sometimes the best way to find out about research positions is to consult faculty and lab web pages to find research topics that interest you and then contact the labs or faculty directly.
