Student Shop and Mechanical Work Area

The Student Machine Shop is available to students and faculty of the College of Sciences during regular Shop hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m). Qualified individuals may do their own machine work for school projects. The Student Shop is equipped with a lathe, milling machine, saw, drill press and belt sander. Rates are $10.00 per hour for Shop use. Raw materials may be purchased from Shop stock or special ordered.
A mechanical work area is available during regular shop hours. This area has a work bench with vise, hand tools, ultra sonic cleaner, parts washer and sandblaster which may be used by students and faculty. Rate of $10.00 per hour is charged for use of this area.
Student shop hours vary depending on the availability/schedule of the shop supervisory staff and other shop commitments. Student Shop time must be reserved in advance using our online scheduling system.
