Professional Science Master's

There are four new interdisciplinary Professional Science Master's Programs at Georgia Tech:

Below is a brief description of each program. For more info, click on the links above to go to program websites

Bioinformatics is a new discipline integrating mathematical, statistical and computer methods to analyze biological, biochemical and biophysical data. The program is one of the first of its kind in the U.S. The degree program has been made possible through a collaboration among the School of Biology, the School of Mathematics, the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and the College of Computing.

Human Computer Interaction(HCI) is a collaborative program of the College of Computing; the School of Psychology; and the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture (LCC); It is administered through the Graphics, Visualization and Usability (GVU) Center. This Master's program will provide students with the practical, interdisciplinary skills and theoretical understanding they will need to become leaders in the design, implementation and evaluation of the computer interfaces of the future.

Quantitative and Computational Finance(QCF) is a joint effort of the DuPree College of Management, the School of Mathematics and the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. The main objective of the program is to provide students with the practical skills and theoretical understanding they need to be leaders in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of the models used by the financial sector to structure transactions, manage risk and construct investment strategies.

Prosthetics & Orthotics(MSPO) is the only Master of Science Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics available in the United States. It is made possible through a close collaboration between the School of Applied Physiology, and the Schools of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. At Georgia Tech we recognize that prosthetics and orthotics requires a unique combination of clinical skill and scientific ability. Georgia Tech's excellence in science and engineering is well-documented, and MSPO students will benefit from our breadth of knowledge, our laboratory facilities, and our cutting-edge research. Our students will experience real P&O practice firsthand and at an aggressive rate throughout their experience at Tech. They will learn the potential for computer-aided design and manufacture in P&O, and will be conversant in the clinical P&O literature. Our aim is to produce the finest clinicians, researchers, designers, and educators in the industry.
